Sasha Johnstone is a graduate student in the department of Health, Aging and Society at McMaster University under the supervision of Dr. Meridith Griffin. Sasha has spent the last 2 years conducting research using qualitative research methods such as one-on-one in-depth interviews, participant observation and a virtual ethnography. In the summer of 2016 Sasha was awarded with an Undergraduate Student Research Award from the department of Social Sciences at McMaster University. Sasha earned a Social Service Worker Diploma from Sheridan Institute of Technology, a Bachelor’s degree of Arts from McMaster University in the department of Health Studies & Gerontology. Sasha began working towards a Master’s of Arts at McMaster University in the fall of 2016 with an interest in appearance management and embodied aging. Sasha will be presenting her work at upcoming conferences and is in the process of developing an academic publication from her research findings.
